Rivers of Steel National Heritage Area will hold a Holiday Artist Market featuring locally-made, one-of-a-kind functional and decorative ethnic crafts and food at our historic location, the Pump House. 
Rivers of Steel will also be selling books, clothing, and multimedia items focusing on the industrial heritage of southwestern Pennsylvania.

When: 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturday, December 1 and Sunday, December 2.

I Made It! Market announces its sixth annual handmade arts marketplace for the holidays to be held on Friday, November 30th from 5 pm - 10 pm and Saturday, December 1st from 11 am - 6 pm at Bakery Square. More than 90 Pittsburgh-regional artisans will offer handmade goods including children's items, house wares, clothing, jewelry, plush, ceramics, sweets, photography, toys, bath & body products and much more. The Farm to Table Harvest Tasting allows consumers to experience first-hand the quality and diversity of locally grown, produced and prepared food.  Over 65 farms, local food producers, restaurants, caterers, wineries and breweries are participating.

Farm to Table Pittsburgh started in 2007 and we've held a Local Food Conference every spring at the end of March. Throughout the year we sponsor programs to increase the awareness and availability of real,  local food to area consumers. The next Farm to Table Conference will be held Friday & Saturday, March 22 & 23, 2013.

What: Tortoise and Hair™ Pittsburgh 5k

When: September 16, 2012 - Registration at 7:30am, Run/Walk 9:00am

Where: Frick Park at South Braddock and Biddle Avenues, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Why: The Tortoise and Hair™ Pittsburgh 5k run and 2.5 mile walk is a fundraising event that donates all proceeds to the National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF). The NAAF uses the donations to fund research in hopes of new treatment options for alopecia areata patients and, ultimately, to FIND A CURE!

Where: Washington Road (Route 19) in Uptown Mount Lebanon

Why: To support the community and special needs hockey programs through the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation.

The Mt. Lebanon Partnership presents ULTRAparty 2012. This year’s ULTRAparty, Mt. Lebanon’s premiere summer street party, will benefit the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation and its support of special needs hockey programs. Through the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation community autism and special needs initiatives, including hockey teams for those differently-abled, will benefit from ULTRAparty. With more than one in 110 diagnosed with autism and a growth rate estimated at 1,148%, autism is the fastest-growing developmental disability in the U.S.
